Replace a Module in an Existing Group

Very infrequently, you will have to replace a module in one of your groups. This two step process is very simple and can be performed while the system is still up and running. Make sure you understand these instructions so you can complete the steps in the least amount of time.

Replacing a Module

When replacing a module, make sure the the replacment module has the same ID as the module being replaced.


1. Disonnect any RS-485 cables connected to the Com In and Com Out port on the module.

2. Disconnect any video or computer inputs going into the module. If your inputs are composite, make sure to remove the terminators.

3. Disconnect any DVI cables connected to the Digital In/Loop and Digital Out port on the module.

4. If there is a VGA cable connected to the Analog Out port, disconnect that as well.

5. Power down the module and disconnect the power chord.

6. Remove the module from the equipment rack and replace it with the new module making sure it has the same ID.

7. Connect the power chord and turn on the module.

8. Connect the VGA cable removed during step 4.

9. Connect any DVI cables removed during step 3.

10. Connect any computer or video inputs removed during step 2.

11. Connect the RS-485 cables removed during step 1.


Configuring the Software

The second step to replacing a module involves configuring the software. Again this can be accomplished without having to restart the software. Select play to watch the video demonstrating how the software is configured. Remember to enter avitech when the software prompts you to enter a password.
